About
Why this system exists and who builds it.
What this system does
The SFO Assessment & Benchmarking System turns the Kaplan & Norton Strategy-Focused Organization framework into a repeatable measurement instrument. It administers a standard 30-item diagnostic across five execution principles, scores each entity on a 0–100 index, aggregates results up a hierarchy of subsidiaries, regions and the group, and positions the outcome against published regional and industry-sector baselines.
Why it matters
Most organizations do not fail at writing strategy; they fail at executing it. The published research pattern is consistent: executive mobilization scores high while individual alignment and continual governance lag, so strategy dissipates during cascading. Measuring that gap concretely, entity by entity, is the first step to closing it.
How it is scored
Each of the 30 items is answered on a 1–5 maturity scale. A pillar score is the sum of its item scores divided by five times the number answered, expressed as a percentage. The SFO Index is the weighted sum of the five pillars at the standard 20% each. Entity results roll up with a weight of 50% revenue contribution and 50% employee headcount. To keep self-assessment honest, every item carries an evidence field so scores can be triangulated against actual documents.
Who builds it
Advanced Management Solutions builds and operates management systems for enterprises that need their strategy, performance and governance processes to actually connect. This platform is one of them.

On the framework
The Strategy-Focused Organization framework and the Balanced Scorecard were developed by Drs. Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton. This platform implements that methodology as an assessment instrument; it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a publication of its originators or their publishers.
